Tax Deductible Donations
Your tax deductible donations are welcome! Mission JUVEP is approved by TrustBridge to receive tax-deductible donations from the United States, UK, Australia and other countries. TrustBridge serves charities around the world and solves the problem of getting tax-deductible U.S. funds to foreign charities. TrustBridge is an approved IRS 501(c)(3) charity in the United States and performs the due diligence required to accept Mission JUVEP as a suitable charity. If you give through TrustBridge, you can be confident that your donations will be directed to the good work of JUVEP. To see how to donate to JUVEP through TrustBridge, click the button and download the donor information card (opens a new page).
TrustBridge is ideal if you have larger amounts of money that you want to go directly to Mission JUVEP. Credit card donations are fast and lower cost, but are not tax-deductible.
Additionally, Mission JUVEP has a partnership with the World Gospel Mission (WGM.org), based in Marion, IN. WGM is a fully qualified tax-exempt missionary sending entity able to receive tax-deductible donations and forward them to their intended purpose in Brazil.
WGM often mobilizes specific mission work and will send people into the field to provide support to JUVEP or assist with JUVEP seminaries. If you have a specific idea or area that you would like to support, please let us know. We can work with WGM to move your passion forward!
Donor Advised Funds
Donor advised funds are an ideal solution for people with appreciated and illiquid assets. With the DAF, you can get the full tax deductible benefits of your donation, while letting WGM or TrustBridge handle the liquidation. Then you will still be able to work with them to direct the funds to areas you deem to be most important. For JUVEP and their missionaries, this is fabulous because there is a reliable long-term source of support. One of the hardest things for missionaries is to be doing good work in the field, only to have regular donors unable to continue supporting the work.
Non Tax Deductible Donation Considerations
If you do not need tax deductible treatment, your funds can do even more good! A simple option is to do an international wire transfer to a JUVEP bank. And for convenience, non-tax deductible donations are available by credit card with net proceeds (after 5% credit card fees) deposited into a bank account with the Presbyterian Church of Intermares. Intermares will deduct up to ten percent (10%) for administration and bank fees, remitting the balance to your designated purpose. If actual administration costs are less than 10%, the balance will be applied to mission projects, such as those described in this website. Check out opportunities for Small Partners and Big Partners.
Administration of Donations
All donation options incur certain expenses. The Intermares church, WGM and TrustBridge incur administrative expenses to manage donations and maintain awareness of JUVEP operations. These expenses are typically about ten percent (10%), which is actually low for many charities. As a percentage, TrustBridge fees incur fixed minimums and are less than 10% for larger donations and more than 10% for smaller donations. Credit card donations are highly recommended for smaller donations as they are very efficient and get to the intended recipient quickly.
If tax deductibility is not required, Credit Card donations through this website to JUVEP are the lowest cost option. Harvest100Fold is a separate self-funded charitable information service that does not receive any percentage of your donations. Non-exempt donations through this website experience processing charges for the use and processing of credit cards. This is done by independent third-party processors (stripe.com and givewp.com). These fees are typically 5%, with a maximum of 7%.
The Harvest100Fold team performs some due diligence to ensure donated funds are applied to the described purpose. There is no guarantee that the oversight can be free from errors or can detect fraud. Missionaries are generally known personally by the Harvest100Fold staff, but may operate all around the world. Thus site visits may never occur or may occur sporadically. Intermares Church accepts no responsibility for overseeing projects that are not sponsored by the church. We will always try to keep donors updated with reports from the missionaries in the field. Additionally, you can ask us for specific updates.
Special Tax Deductible Donation Considerations
Harvest100Fold also highlights some work in the Sertão of Brazil not sponsored by JUVEP. This includes the work of the Intermares Presbyterian Church and other relevant ministries. Some work is not directly sponsored by JUVEP, but done by former students (such as outreach to some Indigenous populations.) JUVEP can receive donations for these purposes through these donation channels. Non-JUVEP activities are generally noted as such. Generally, donations to non-JUVEP operations are passed-through with a 10% administrative fee.
We are on the ground in Brazil observing and monitoring mission operations. We will strive to keep you well informed regarding the application and impact from your donations. Please contact us with questions or concerns. We value your support of this critical work.
