Enduring Needs for God's Grace and Provision
Man’s power can accomplish nothing. We need God through His Holy Spirit to work in the Sertão, opening people’s minds and hearts to the Good News of Jesus. We also need the Holy Spirit to touch the heart of future missionaries. Of course, work in the Sertão is a gift enabled by God. Pray for strengthening.
You don’t have to give yourself to pray for the people with the money. Pray for their inspiration to give. Prayer is powerful. Please pray for those with abundant financial resources to be moved to make a big donation.
JUVEP is blessed with many outstanding missionary volunteers. But, to scale up for more than two missions annually, a great increase in volunteers is needed.
Short-term trips can do amazing things to draw new missionaries closer to the LORD. These trips can be life changing, redirecting career intentions and giving missionaries a much closer walk with the Lord. This is a secondary, but major fruit that can be produced by sending missionaries to the field. Pray for the missionaries to have a close encounter with God.
JUVEP seminaries all focus on preparing Godly servants for the harsh Sertao. Many students are poor and don’t have the kind of basic education often held by “regular” seminary students. Pray for a major impartation of wisdom to all JUVEP seminary students.
CPM is a major resource to prepare missionaries for the reality of mission work. They are not luxurious classrooms as might be found in the USA. Rather, CPM students are close to the action – getting real preparation for their calling.

Items Needing Prayer Now or on the Calendar
The pandemic hit Brazil very hard. Brazil was suffering from a difficult economy before the pandemic. People are hurting and many are hungry. Pray that they also have a hunger to learn the gospel of Jesus!
The evangelistic mission planned for July 2020 was canceled due to CoronaVirus. The next trip in 2021 is uncertain. Pray to resume these evangelistic efforts and for JUVEP to maintain the resources to plan and execute the trip.
JUVEP’s 2020 Mission Conference was canceled due to CoronaVirus This is the major event used to gain financial support for JUVEP’s work. Pray that donors will emerge and that JUVEP will be able to host a successful event in 2021.
Sergio Ribeiro, the founder and Director of JUVEP was planning to go to the United States to share news of the work of JUVEP. Many events have impacted this plan. Pray that Sergio will be able to go and will be able to visit many passionate believers with an interest the work in Brazil.
